The higher the water content, the easier it is to purge during purging. When the gasifier is shut down, it is first purged with nitrogen and then purged with steam. The purpose is that during steam purging, the coal slurry pipeline is easier to blow and the effect is better than blowing with dry gas. After all, coal slurry is a suspended solid solution that is difficult to flow. Using steam will dilute the coal slurry. I don’t know if this explanation is correct or not. Let’s discuss it.
Oxygen pipelines are generally not made of high temperature resistant materials. Many manufacturers of steam purging have this setting, but I haven't heard of any actually using it.
The sealing requirements on the oxygen pipeline are strict. Steam purging will deform the gasket or valve sealing ring and cause leakage. It is better not to use steam purging.
The main function is to purge the remaining coal slurry in the coal slurry pipeline. Our company's original design included steam purging of the coal slurry pipeline. At that time, the purging effect of the coal slurry pipeline was very good, and there was no coal slurry remaining. The time of coal slurry entering the furnace was very accurate every time it was started. Later, the steam purge line of the coal slurry pipeline was cancelled, and only nitrogen was used for purging. Every time the coal slurry entering the burner pipeline was checked, one-third of the coal slurry was not blown out. Starting the operation affects the time when the coal slurry enters the burner, which is unsafe. It is recommended that you do not cancel it.
