Dear fellow users: The double-flange level gauges we are using on site are subject to strong corrosion from the materials handled; therefore, a protective film is applied at the junction where the flanges meet the materials. However, since we are pumping under negative pressure, the installation crew has informed us that under normal negative pressure conditions, the protective film bulges each time, and repeated occurrences of this will lead to inaccurate measurement results. The technicians we consulted say that this doesn’t cause any problems, but we’re not sure which view is correct. Therefore, we kindly ask experienced users for their advice – if this is indeed the case, are there any remedies? This is our first time using these devices, and the problem may seem trivial; please don’t laugh at us
If the transmitter operates under negative pressure and this pressure exceeds its allowable limit, the filling fluid will vaporize, causing the diaphragm to bulge outward, which leads to inaccurate measurements; in severe cases, it can damage the instrument. The differential pressure transmitter is installed beneath two flanges to prevent negative pressure and ensure accurate measurement.

A double-flange level gauge is used to indicate how much material has been added to the reactor, and these double-flange gauges are installed on the measuring tank. A protective film is applied when the material is corrosive. However, our current installers say that the protective film used for negative pressure material transfer often bulges, and over time this leads to inaccurate readings of the liquid level. Is this the case? Are there any remedies? Or can’t negative pressure be used when a fluorotitanium coating is used on the double-flange level gauge? I hope experts can give some advice
