I work at Texaco Gasification. The main functions of the air separation unit in our plant are to supply high-purity oxygen required for gasification, high-pressure nitrogen for purging during startup and shutdown operations, as well as low-pressure nitrogen for displacement purposes. It also provides instrument air, plant air, and medium-pressure nitrogen needed for the sulfidation of conversion catalysts.
