To determine which side of the disc’s arch faces the equipment, it is first necessary to know what type of disc is being used. In a positive arch-shaped rupture disc, the concave side faces the equipment, while in a negative arch-shaped rupture disc, the convex side faces the equipment. This can also be determined based on other attachments on the burst disc or the indicated flow direction of the medium.
