When performing welding, is it better to connect the wire as close as possible to the point where welding is taking place? Is there still a spacing requirement?
The poster is referring to the bottom line, right? The welding torch cable is located at the site where welding is carried out. I checked the standard SY 6516-2001|Safety Regulations for Welding Operations in the Petroleum Industry; it doesn’t seem to specify any requirements regarding the distance between the base wires. However, our company’s regulations for hot work require that the base wires and the feed wires be on the same structure.
Transmission line voltage: Below 1KV, 1–20KV, 30–110KV, 154KV, 220KV. Maximum allowable distance from the transmission line (m): 1.5, 2, 4, 5, 6. I don’t understand what this means; I found it on the internet. Hope it can help you. There must be regulations as well for different flammable materials; it’s better to check the relevant standard specifications
I haven’t seen specific regulations on this, but this is how things are done in practice, especially when working in areas prone to fire and explosion; the secondary lines are placed close to the work area to prevent accidental ignition that could lead to accidents. I would appreciate it if someone with more knowledge could explain the specific reason!
