What causes the anti-stall valve of the engine unit to open automatically?

The anti-surge valve of the syngas compressor in our plant opened automatically, resulting in overpressure at the inlet of the unit; there is no flow of purified syngas. What could be the cause of this?

Anti-surge valves are usually air-operated valves, that is, FO, meaning fail-open! If there is no issue with the process, then it’s a problem with the instrumentation; there are several possible causes: the solenoid valve loses power, either due to an interlock action or a problem with the solenoid valve’s wiring. The air supply is interrupted – check the instrumentation air supply lines. There is a fault with the valve positioner of the control valve. ......
Agree with the opinion above; if there’s no issue with the process, low-flow self-protection should not occur. It’s likely a problem with the instruments. Check the instrument air supply lines, as well as the positioners and other related components. I’m not familiar with instruments – please have someone who knows more answer this
