What is like welding inside a cold box?
Who goes in to take a look? Who knows; actually, there’s not much there except welds
It’s the same as regular welding, with the requirement being full penetration welding.
Argon arc welding is required, and it seems that special requirements apply to the welding of instrument connections; nickel may need to be added, and lead cannot be used.
All welding inside the cryogenic tank is done mechanically; flange connections are generally not used. Therefore, it is essential to purge the tank thoroughly before starting operation, in order to prevent mechanical impurities from affecting normal operation and production

Due to the low temperature of the materials inside the cold box, which are all welded together, using flanges for connection may result in poor sealing at those flanges due to the low temperature, leading to leaks.
