The level gauge for the hydrochloric acid tank in my workshop is a glass tube type, which poses a safety risk of rupture. Would it be suitable to replace it with an anti-corrosion magnetic flap level gauge? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Are caustic soda tanks and sulfuric acid tanks also suitable?
Choosing a magnetic flip switch is feasible. The degree of color change in the indicator corresponds to the actual liquid level of the medium being measured, thereby enabling on-site indication of the liquid level. Hydrochloric acid is highly corrosive; how can the magnetic material used in magnetic flap valves address this corrosion issue? If you are concerned about glass tubes breaking easily, you may consider using fully transparent polytetrafluoroethylene level gauges, which offer similar performance to glass tubes; they do not break and do not cause corrosion. Such PTFE level gauges are widely used in the level measurement of hydrochloric acid storage tanks at large chlor-alkali plants in our area, and their performance has been satisfactory.
