This post was last edited by Luo Hu 15185080221 on 2009-11-3 at 16:33. Is the process route for producing ammonium sulfate using liquid ammonia and concentrated sulfuric acid the same as that used in coking plants to produce ammonium sulfate?
It should be different. Coking plants use sulfuric acid to absorb the small amount of ammonia present in gas; the reaction is not very exothermic. In contrast, when concentrated sulfuric acid is used to absorb gaseous ammonia, the reaction is much more intense.
