According to online reports, on February 2, 2007, the signing ceremony for the technology introduction contract for Jihua Group’s project to produce 200,000 tons of propylene per year was held in Jilin City. This project introduces KBR’s SuperFlex technology from the United States. This is a report from 2007; I wonder how the project is progressing? Has it already been launched?
I would also like to know that the Superflex propylene production process introduced by Jihua from KBR is the first of its kind in China and the second in the world.
One more question: Are there any KBR branches in China, and how can I get in touch with them?

In China, Shandong Yuhuang is responsible for the production, while LPEC handles the design. KBR’s domestic website is http://kbrtechnology.com.cn/. Both ACO and superflex are. KBR Kellogg Brown & Root has recently signed a contract for technical licensing and process design of a new olefin production facility utilizing the Advanced Catalytic Olefination Technology (ACOTM). This is the first licensing agreement for ACOTM’s innovative technology. This technology can catalytically crack naphtha and other straight-run feedstocks, yielding higher olefin production compared to conventional steam cracking techniques. Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Yan’an Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. will build and operate a new ACOTM plant in Luoyang Township, Fucheng Town, Fuxian County, Shaanxi Province, China. The olefin production capacity of the ACO converter is approximately 200,000 tons per year (ethylene and propylene combined).
