What type of oil dropper is it? Is it a vacuum oil injector driven by a separate motor outside, which in turn drives a common shaft equipped with several eccentric wheels or cams? It would be better if the original poster could provide details or photos, so that everyone can understand better
The question isn’t very clear. Just because so many people have come to read the post doesn’t mean they don’t know; it’s likely that everyone is not clear about what you want to ask and how we should answer that question.
We usually check whether oil is dripping normally inside the transparent cover, and whether there is any oil accumulation, etc....
Original poster, there are specified amounts for lubricating the compressor packing and piston rings. Too much can cause carbon buildup in the cylinders, while too little results in poor lubrication. Our company generally stipulates that 5 to 10 drops per minute is sufficient. Separate requirements apply for special operating conditions. As for maintenance, actually the term “oil injector” is just a common way of referring to it; an oil injector denotes the entire device, including the motor. To be precise, that small device is more appropriately called an oil injection pump. It is essentially a scaled-down plunger pump; the oil injection pump is usually brought into use half an hour before starting up the machine, and stopping it for half an hour or an hour during operation has little impact on the unit. Early reciprocating compressors did not have oiling equipment, and the development of oiling systems for reciprocating units is not very old. Imported oil injection pumps are more durable than domestic ones. The oil tank of the oil injector should be cleaned regularly; if the oil supply is insufficient, the machine can be started to address the issue. Both the packing and the piston are supplied with oil by two oil injection pumps simultaneously, so it doesn’t matter if one of them stops working. The low flow rate is mainly due to leaks in the system’s check valves, or blockages in the filter screen at the inlet of the oil pump, as well as sludge and other contaminants. Another issue is that the glass cover isn’t sealed properly. We are unable to repair any other types of faults as well. If production volume still doesn’t increase after eliminating the above faults, simply replace it.
If it is a vacuum oil dropper, it has a viewing window for observation, and it can be tested by shaking it by hand.
I understand it refers to an oil injector; piston compressors used in fertilizer plants generally employ such injectors. It is possible to check whether oil is being discharged through the glass cover, as well as whether the amount of oil dripping can be adjusted.
