There are a total of 5,000 tons of steel structure in the facility; an approximate estimate of the amount of welding material required is needed. Some people say that it can be estimated at roughly 3 percent of the weight of the steel structure – is this calculation accurate?
1# klsunft A range of two to three thousandths is credible data; three percent? A misstatement or a mishearing.
Based on conventional estimates, approximately 28 kilograms of welding material are required per ton for the prefabrication and installation of steel structures connected with non-high-strength bolts, while about 15 kilograms are needed per ton for such structures connected with high-strength bolts. This experience value represents a comprehensive evaluation of structural forms such as frames, platforms, ladders, railings, and trusses. In practice, classification should be carried out based on the details provided in the drawings; for example, all steel structures should be classified according to the specifications into frames, pipe racks, and ladder platforms (it should also be specified whether the platform is made of grating or patterned plates). The amount of welding rod required can be calculated based on each category, or it can be determined using the amounts specified in the standards (the actual amount used can be found by multiplying the standard amount by 0.95).
