Due to the phenomenon of foam entrainment in actual production, it is difficult for the results obtained from ASPEN simulations of absorption towers to match the actual production data. I would like to ask how to take into account the impact of foam entrainment in these simulations, so as to make the calculated results as close as possible to the actual data?

If the RADFRAC module is used, there are settings for flooding and foaming in the design and calculation of trays/packs; for packed absorption towers, these settings should be found under Pack sizing/rating
For RAD Frac, under the Efficiency section and within the OPTIONS option, select EFFICIENCY TYPE and METHOD, and then enter the efficiency level based on your experience.
For absorption towers and stripping towers, the required efficiency is generally low; a value of 0.2–0.5 is sufficient. The opening ratio can be increased as well as the tower diameter, but the kinetic energy factor should not be too high
