Two water pumps, one 18.5kw and one 5.5kw. How should an explosion-proof control column be selected? What issues should be noted? Also, in terms of wiring, is the operation column just a control circuit connected to the drawer cabinet?
There are two water pumps, one with 18.5 kW and the other with 5.5 kW power. Explosion-proof control panels should be used; if only start and stop functions are required, the same type of panel can be chosen. If use in outdoor conditions is involved, corrosion protection measures must also be taken into account. The control panel is simply a control circuit, and like ordinary start and stop buttons, it can be directly connected to a drawer cabinet. Of course, you can also choose an explosion-proof switch with a starter.
The 18.5KW explosion-proof control panel should be equipped with an ammeter, operation indicator lights, and start/stop buttons; the 5.5KW explosion-proof control panel only needs operation indicator lights and start/stop buttons. Connecting it to the drawer cabinet is no different from connecting it to a normal control circuit.

It seems that motors with a power rating of less than 30KW do not require an ammeter. Your control panel needs two control buttons (start, stop) and two indicator lights (RED, GREEN); the control wires are connected to the distribution cabinet. Another consideration is the environmental requirements: whether it needs to be corrosion-resistant, explosion-proof, or ordinary. There’s also the installation method (wall-mounted, on poles, etc.). But since it’s a water pump, corrosion resistance should be sufficient~

The control methods are not very different. The control box has nothing to do with power.
As a supplementary note, if misoperation is likely to occur on site, an additional locking function can be added to the control panel. In the event of a malfunction in the equipment, the control panel can be moved to the stop position and locked, preventing the motor from being started elsewhere; this essentially involves disconnecting the normally closed contact in the secondary circuit.
Does a 30KW motor require soft starting? Low-power motors can be started directly, while high-power motors require soft starting. The boundary is forgotten!
