Plate heat exchangers have high heat exchange efficiency and are widely used for heat exchange with clean media. The water obtained through steam stripping for the wastewater from coal chemical plants is usually quite dirty, which leads to frequent blockages in the plate heat exchangers. We typically use steam for cleaning, but the temperature of the steam is quite high, far exceeding the design temperature of the plate heat exchangers; prolonged use of steam for cleaning can have a negative impact on the sealing performance of these devices. Does anyone have a better method?
You can try adding a filter in front of the heat exchanger.
Chemical cleaning can be used – it’s fast, convenient, and leaves everything clean! Our company uses this method for all its plate heat exchangers, though the price is a bit higher!
