Gentlemen, I have just graduated. May I ask in what kind of process systems are vacuum pumps commonly used?
Generally, vacuum is created at the top of the vacuum distillation tower, and the system’s exhaust system is used for this purpose. These are the only two places that come to mind; I’m curious to hear what other people think.
It is used in situations where the system requires a vacuum; the source of this vacuum is the vacuum pump, as in processes such as reduced-pressure distillation, vacuum evaporation, and vacuum filtration.
