What is a gas collector? What is its purpose?

This post was last edited by wang*neng on 2009-11-16 at 17:22. There is a gas collector on the diagram of the aggregate feeding pipeline; I’m not sure what that device is or what function it serves. Please advise
Gas collector – a small vertical pressure vessel with a rubber lining that serves to collect gas; it is usually installed in front of the flow meter to prevent gas in the fluid from affecting the measurement accuracy
This is also shown on our drawings, but we haven’t installed it; instead, a monomer circulation pump is used to prevent the monomer from vaporizing
Why do some design institutes place the gas collector behind the flow meter? Who can explain the principles and functions of the air collector structure more clearly?
