Diaphragm pumps are widely used these days, and maintenance personnel often are not familiar with the relevant procedures, so I’m reaching out for help?
If repair or inspection is required, follow these steps: 1 Release all pressure from the pump. Be sure to disconnect the device from the compressed air supply. 2 Remove the pump from the trolley or wall bracket, and remove all accessories (air inlet, paint inlet, soft suction tube). 3 Place the pump steadily on the table and open the cover. Ensure that no residues of paint or cleaning solution flow into the pump. 4 Carefully remove all paint or solvent residues from the diaphragm and valve seat. 5 Remove the guide device and the ball of the suction valve from the pump cover. Check whether there are any residues on the ball or if it is worn out. 6 Check whether there is dust on the valve seat or if it is worn. If cleaning is required, remove the base and clean the outside of the pump body. (This is very important; otherwise, the solvent may seep into the pump!) ) 8 Check whether the output port valve rotates smoothly. (The ball must be able to rotate freely.) ) If necessary, remove the valve seat and clean the outside of the pump body. Check the surface of the ball for any damage or wear; replace it if necessary. 9 Check whether there are any damages on the surface of the diaphragm. If there is damage or severe wear, follow these steps to replace the diaphragm: rotate the diaphragm separately. When a diaphragm becomes loose from the carrier, unscrew it. Insert a screw and an M8 nut into the hole on the carrier, and tighten them. Then, quickly turn the other diaphragm to the left, loosen it, and remove it. 10 Check whether there is any paint or solvent that has seeped inside the pump. If there is any leakage or damage to the sliding seat, we recommend that you send the pump back to the manufacturer for repair. 11 Install the diaphragm: Attention! Fully screw in the diaphragms and tighten them so that they are pressed tightly together ; Otherwise, the pump cannot operate in reverse. 12 Screw in all valves. Be sure to use a new sealing ring. 13 Clean the sealing edge of the cover; no damage of any kind shall be present on the sealing edge. Place the cover on the pump body, paying attention to the support pins. Tighten the screws crosswise using a torque wrench, with a maximum initial torque of 10 Nm. Note: It is essential to comply with the regulations regarding the starting torque, as it plays a crucial role in the service life of the diaphragm.
