This post was last edited by romantic7146 on 2009-11-10 at 21:54. There are 3,000 radishes that need to be transported from Location A to Location B using donkey carts. The distance between A and B is 1,000 li. Each donkey cart can carry a maximum of 1,000 radishes at a time, and each li the donkey travels consumes one radish (if the cart is empty, the donkey doesn’t need to eat any radishes). How many radishes can be delivered to Location B in total? Let’s see if anyone can come up with a standard solution. (This is an intellectual puzzle given by the interviewer in the most recent interview, to see how well everyone can think. I’m also hoping to get some money for it; haha, I want to download a book that’s available on this forum, but I don’t have enough money. Thank you all.) PS: Haha, I found Haiyou’s answer really funny. But everyone should keep in mind that this is an interview question – there can be different answers, and each answer hides certain principles related to hiring people. It’s not just a simple arithmetic problem
I got 833. I wonder if everyone’s answer is the same as mine. Haha, I won’t talk about how to solve it for now
BAIDU has found the calculation result, but I’ll do the calculations myself slowly. O(∩_∩)O~
I guess it’s also 833; I’m not sure if that’s correct, I calculated it myself.
It can carry up to 3,000 to Location B
I’ve been trying for an hour with no results; I’m just too stupid to figure it out. I hope someone knowledgeable can give me the correct answer. . . I’ll do my best to earn extra points
Sometimes it’s possible to transport all 3000 units over there; once they reach 0.9, one can come back and continue transporting more, in a continuous cycle like this. It’s just too inhumane, haha
I didn’t think of the idea for the 7th floor at first; it’s clever – this method can indeed be used to deliver 3,000 items to their destination!
If we have to return every time we can’t cover 1 li, won’t that mean we won’t lose even one? Poor donkey
Of course it’s 3000, no need to think about it O(∩_∩)O haha~
I thought it was 3,000 right after reading it, and I saw some other users below who also said 3,000. I’m not sure if I’m correct; please send me an private message to let me know the answer
