I would like to ask those involved in urea production: In the evaporation process of a urea plant with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons, is direct feeding used for the flash evaporation in the first stage of evaporation?
From what I have observed, it seems that the evaporation process in the urea production plant with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons does not yet use a direct feeding method from the first stage of evaporation; this is mainly to ensure the quality of the urea!

In theory, it’s completely possible to feed the material directly; the pressure difference between the two units (45 KPA – 34 KPA) is sufficient for this purpose. During the capacity expansion upgrades, the material is fed directly into the pre-evaporator. However, the concentrated urine after pre-evaporation still goes into the urine tank, and this is done to ensure stability in subsequent processes as well as consistent quality.
I haven’t heard of any direct feeding system for 300,000-ton urea plants.
I heard that several newly built urea plants in Shanxi with a capacity of 300,000 tons each (designed by Shandong Chemical Engineering Institute) use a direct feeding method – is this true? Please ask someone who is aware of the situation to explain it.
This post was last edited by lxq700918 on 2009-11-18 at 12:59. Direct material transfer should not be used, I guess. It mainly hinders the smooth operation of the entire system and also prevents the guarantee of product quality.
