Under normal circumstances, the inlet temperature of the air preheater is 370 degrees, and the outlet temperature is 110 degrees; however, sometimes the outlet temperature rises to 290 degrees. What problem could occur in a tubular air preheater that leads to such a situation? Please give me some advice, guys. Really thanks a lot
There is a leak inside the preheater; the medium is taking a short circuit
The main reason is that the equipment has leaked
Have other parameters changed, or has the amount of gas used by the furnace suddenly increased?
Another possibility is the heat carrier pressure; large fluctuations in flow rate can cause this issue. If this was not taken into account before, the control scheme needs to be improved now.
If the outlet temperature hadn’t always been high, there would be no need to doubt the possibility of a leak... Is your wind pressure fluctuating significantly? If the heat transfer capacity of the wind is reduced, less heat will be carried away by it.

Assuming there are no faults at the temperature measurement points, I estimate the temperature increase is due to a leak.
If the outlet temperature is measured with a PT100 sensor, it is recommended to perform calibration in order to rule out any issues with the sensor, before checking for problems with the equipment itself.
The inlet temperature of the cold air is only 20–30°C; it may drop below 0°C in winter. The inlet temperature of the flue gas is 300°C. With such a large temperature difference, can the heat exchanger handle it?
