First of all, I don’t know the size of your reactor; it is necessary to carry out calculations regarding the heat exchange requirements in order to determine whether heat tracing is feasible. Additionally, if you do not install temperature measurement points inside the reactor, it will be impossible to control the temperature, as heat tracing involves a heat transfer process. Since you don’t know the temperature of the material at the center of the reactor, it is best to add one or more temperature measurement points.
It is recommended that you install a temperature sensing point on the reactor, so as to ensure accurate control of the temperature of the reactants. Otherwise, if a temperature measurement point is added at the outlet, the energy used for heat exchange cannot be calculated accurately; and as a result, even though it’s possible to control the temperatures of the hot water at the inlet and outlet, it’s still not possible to control the temperature of the reactor
Adding temperature detection points by making cuts to the reactor vessel is rather troublesome, as after the pressure vessel leaves the factory, the user is not allowed to make arbitrary cuts in it; otherwise, the user shall bear full responsibility in case of any accidents. The best approach is to reasonably control the inlet temperature of the circulating hot water. The most appropriate inlet temperature for the circulating hot water in the reactor can be determined by considering the product specifications produced by the reactor; however, special attention must be paid to the impact of environmental temperatures during summer and winter on product quality.
