Are the silencer and muffler on the oil refining unit the same thing?
It's the same thing. A muffler is a device that blocks the propagation of sound and allows airflow to pass through. It is an important measure to eliminate aerodynamic noise. The muffler is a noise reduction device installed on the air flow channel of aerodynamic equipment (such as blowers, air compressors) or in the intake and exhaust systems. Mufflers can block the propagation of sound waves and allow airflow to pass through, making them an effective tool for noise control. There are many types, but based on their muffling mechanism, they can be divided into six main types, namely resistive mufflers, resistance mufflers, impedance composite mufflers, micro-perforated plate mufflers, small hole mufflers and active mufflers.
It should be the same thing. Silencers and mufflers both try to control the noise within the acceptable range of 85 decibels.
