This hat is a bit too big! I can only discuss things in detail – I work in process design, and the knowledge presented in books is rather general; in my view, it only provides the principles. What’s most important is to identify the problems that arise during the actual production of products, and then use those insights to adjust the process design. New processes are all the result of experimentation, and they cannot be achieved in a short time. Therefore, someone like me, who has only been in this field for a short while, respects those who possess practical experience greatly. By following them, one can learn a lot beyond just theory. After all, what we create is meant to become a product, and users can tell whether a product is good or not; it can be evaluated based on the brand. This is also what I mentioned in general terms; there are countless practical examples. But just taking a filter on a pipeline – whether to use one or not, and where to install it – involves many considerations. Our company has suffered losses because of this: something that is theoretically possible fails in practice, as blockages occur too easily. In the end, a simple filter that we made ourselves turned out to be suitable for use. For process designers, it is important to maintain close contact with those working on the ground, based on an understanding of the theory; if possible, they should go to the site as often as possible (since the information that comes back may not be accurate). By observing things firsthand, drawing conclusions, making attempts, and adjusting details, they can address the problems that arise. Innovation lies in these small steps.

Process innovation and improvement are based on identifying problems in production and determining their causes; therefore, as mentioned on the second floor, it is necessary to go to the site in person to observe and draw conclusions, rather than relying solely on theoretical discussions. Of course, if one is also responsible for both technology and production, then it has a solid basis. :lol
