My first salary was only 1,200 yuan. I remember buying a pack of peanuts and a bottle of Pepsi, as well as a pair of pants for my girlfriend. Since I worked in another city, I didn’t buy anything for my parents, but I sent 200 yuan back to home. The current company pays salaries on the 15th of each month.
I’ll give you a payslip on the 15th, and the money will be transferred to your salary account on the 20th. Half of the salary from the first month is used to pay off debts, and the other half is put on a meal card. Save my future salary first, send it to my family, and repay my tuition loans. Sigh… I feel so tired and under so much pressure. :L

We’re sending it on the 10th, which seems pretty early. I gave my first salary to the personnel director; I borrowed money from him before starting work to pay the rent deposit. Looking back, it was really not easy at that time!
The salary for the first month was in 1996, right? Salaries were very low back then, around 800 or so. The company provided accommodation and meals, so I sent 2/3 of my salary home and kept the rest in my own card for emergencies!
