This unit is designed to handle 25% turndown of total system capacity. However, a minimum of 50 MMSCFD of Abandonment Rate shall be considered. What does Abandonment Rate mean in this context? Please give me some advice, thank you
Abandonment Rate Abandonment rate
As a supplementary note, this sentence is a description of the receiving facility unit in an LNG terminal!
Abandonment originally means “to discard” or “to abandon,” but it is not appropriate here. Without knowing more about the relevant processes, it is recommended to translate “Abandonment Rate” as “processing volume”. ----------------------FYI
This unit is designed to operate at 25% of the total system capacity. However, a minimum abandonment rate of 50 MMSCFD must be maintained. In other words, the unit can function even when operating at 25% of its design capacity, but its minimum capacity should still be 50 million standard cubic feet per day. Based on the context, the meaning of Abandonment Rate is similar to Minimum Rate.
I think the device can operate at 75% load, but a minimum leakage rate (50 million standard cubic feet per day) should be taken into account.
At first, I thought it was the loss rate, but considering 50 million cubic feet per day is also an excessive amount. The translation for the second part is: It should be taken into account that the abundance rate must be at least 50 million cubic feet per day, so further consideration is needed.
