Are there any coal-to-natural gas plants that are currently in operation in the country?
Under construction; not yet in operation
To the best of my knowledge, the main coal-to-natural gas projects currently under planning and construction in China are: ● Two SNG projects operated by Datang International, with capacities of 4 billion Nm3/year each, located in Keshiketeng Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, and in Fuxin City, Liaoning Province； ●Shenhua Group’s 2 billion Nm3/a SNG project in Ordos, Inner Mongolia ； ●Inner Mongolia HuiNeng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd.’s 1.6 billion Nm3/a SNG project ； Wait
Keqi is fast, but Qinghua is not slow either
Some have been built, but none are yet in operation, right?
The one in Datang Keqi should be the earliest, I guess.
There are many projects under construction, but none are in operation yet. The new coal chemical project in Ketkheteng Banner of Datang is currently in the stage of practical production. A rush to undertake such projects is not encouraged, as the technology is not yet mature and needs further improvement.
