How does the multi-nozzle gasification process at East China University of Science and Technology compare to the Lurgi technology?
Both use water-coal slurry as the feed material. The four-nozzle opposed setup developed by East China University of Science and Technology can improve mass transfer efficiency; it is said that the concentration of useful gas components increases by a few percentage points, but it’s not clear whether there will be any difficulties in terms of operation and control
Ruchi uses pressurized gasification of pulverized coal, while multi-nozzle systems employ slurry feed – there’s a big difference!

Does the domestic gasification industry really need to worry about differences of just a few percentage points? What I mean is that while everyone’s discussions are certainly valuable and aim to determine which type of gasification furnace is the best, from the perspective of China’s gasification industry, it shouldn’t always serve as a testing ground for introducing new technologies. If a Huali four-nozzle furnace can be used, then that’s what should be used; only if the coal type is not suitable should another type be considered. If what is developed at Huali University cannot be put into use by everyone, it won’t have the opportunity to be improved. Give domestic technology some opportunities.

HUARI’s multi-nozzle system is used for water-coal slurry fed fluidized-bed gasification, and it is more advanced than Lu Qi’ s coal crushing pressurized gasification technology; it is probably slightly better than Texaco’s water-coal slurry technology as well
