Recently, there was waste water from paper deinking that required treatment using physical-chemical methods such as flocculation and sedimentation. The flocculant used was a starch-acrylamide grafted copolymer (GCAS). I wonder if anyone has used this type of flocculant; what is the appropriate amount to add when treating paper deinking wastewater, and how long does the sedimentation process take?

I agree with what was said above; physical and chemical treatment is different from biochemical treatment. Physical and chemical treatment depends not only on water quality but also on other factors such as stirring speed, temperature, and sedimentation time. After experimenting with conditions on a small scale, moving on to pilot-scale testing, and then applying it in engineering applications, relying directly on others’ experience may not necessarily be suitable.
