What are the problems that occur in syngas centrifugal compressors?
Thread Content
Dear sea friends, those who are currently using centrifugal compressors, please share which brand you use and how it performs What problems have arisen?1. Driver does not start: Oil pressure too low (see point 6); oil level in the high-level tank too low – top up the oil; no working medium or power supply – inform the responsible department; seal oil pressure difference too low – adjust the control valve; oil temperature too low – turn on the heater.
2. Driver shuts down: Power supply failure – inform the responsible department; safety devices – follow the indicated fault procedures; see (a, b, d, e) below for corrective actions.
3. Main oil pump does not start: No working medium – inform the responsible department.
4. Auxiliary oil pump does not start when oil pressure drops: Electrical failure – same as above; electrical failure in the pump’s automatic control system – same as above.
5. Oil pump does not deliver oil: Gate valves or check valves in the oil pipelines are closed – open the gate valves or repair/replace the check valves; poor ventilation in the pumps and pipelines – ensure proper ventilation.
6. Oil pressure decreases: Pump is faulty – see points 3–5; oil pipeline leakage – repair the leak as described in point 8; cooler, filter, or coarse filter is dirty – replace the cooler/filter and clean the coarse filter; oil pressure balance valve or pressure reducing valve is defective – inspect the valve and replace it if necessary.
7. Oil pressure is too high: Oil pressure balance valve is faulty – inspect the valve and replace it if necessary.
8. Oil leakage: Leakage at flange connections – replace the seals if necessary; oil pipeline rupture poses a risk; contact with hot components may cause a fire.
9. Oil supply temperature is too high: Insufficient cooling water – first fully open the shut-off valve, then inform the responsible department; cooling water temperature is too high; low-quality oil – change the oil.
10. Oil supply temperature is too low: Excessive cooling water – reduce the cooling water flow; ambient temperature is too low – turn off the oil tank heater.
11. Bearing temperature: Oil flow rate is too low – increase the oil pressure before the bearings; oil supply temperature is too high – see point 9; oil cooler is faulty – replace or clean it; low-quality oil – change the oil; bearings are damaged – listen to the bearings and measure vibration; be careful, and if the temperature rises rapidly, shut down the compressor immediately.
12. Increased bearing vibration: Alignment has changed – check the alignment and foundation; excessive bearing clearance – install new bearings; oil is foaming – install new bearings and adjust the oil viscosity if necessary; rotor is unbalanced (possibly contaminated) – check the rotor’s balance and clean it if necessary; rotor is deformed – straighten the rotor (this can only be done by experts from Shenyang Blowers) and then check the balance.
13. Compressor operates below the surge limit: Back pressure is too high – inform the responsible department to open the valves; valves in the inlet pipeline are restricted – adjust the valves; valves in the outlet pipeline are restricted – adjust the valves; surge limit controller is defective or not adjusted properly – readjust the controller or replace it if necessary
