The pressure should be applied in front of the flow meter, outside the straight pipe section.

The effect of pressure on the flow meter is negligible. Regarding the normal process, the reason why the temperature and pressure measurement points are placed before the flow meter has not been clearly explained. I guess it might be because, after passing through the flow meter, there are still differences in temperature and pressure due to energy conversion and the actual conditions at the measurement section. But one problem is that, due to the installation requirements of the flow meter, the thermometer must be installed before the straight pipe requirement is met, and this piping installation poses difficulties.
Pressure is in front, temperature is behind
I prefer that the pressure and temperature measurement points be located before the flow meter, although I have also seen them placed after the flow meter.
The pressure-taking element should be installed in front of the flow meter; installing it within a straight pipe section will not affect the flow meter’s measurement; The temperature sensing element should be installed behind the flow meter, at a distance of more than 5d; installing it in front of the flow meter will affect its measurement accuracy.
Hehe, of course the pressure tap should be installed before the flow meter, because the orifice plate causes pressure loss. However, there’s nothing significant after measuring the steam system; the pressure loss across the orifice plate does not exceed 50 kPa, which is negligible compared to the steam pressure. The temperature doesn’t matter whether it’s high or low. The key is to leave enough straight pipe section.
The standard installation is pressure in front of the gauge and temperature behind it!
