After the previous batch of large-grain urea was used domestically, the projects under construction have now switched to small-grain urea. Which product has the greater advantage?
Large particles result in a slower release of fertilizer efficacy, while small particles lead to a faster release. The price of large particles is about 50 yuan higher than that of small particles. Farmers are more favorable toward small-grain urea in terms of price. Large-grained fertilizers have a higher utilization rate and should be the direction for development.
Is large-grained urea used more or less abroad than small-grained urea?
It’s not easy to determine what farmers should choose; our packaging bags also come in different colors, as customers in various regions have different preferences. As for whether larger particles are better or smaller particles are better, it cannot be generalized. If one farmer uses larger particles while others use smaller ones, and due to other factors the use of larger particles leads to increased yields, it is possible that other farmers will also switch to using larger particles; therefore, it’s hard to say. We have both large and small particles; the market determines how capacity is allocated. Of course, to produce larger particles, it’s not necessary to build additional granulation towers, which makes it worthwhile to consider such an investment for increasing urea production.
Currently, the price of large-grained urea is roughly the same as that of small-grained urea. If it is not sufficient to offset the cost difference, small-particle urea still has an advantage
For agricultural use, larger particles are superior to smaller ones; they facilitate slow release and improve crop absorption and utilization, thereby increasing the efficiency of nitrogen use. Since the cost of larger particles is lower than that of smaller ones, their price is naturally slightly higher. For industrial use, there is no distinction between large and small.
