For example, the ASME standard requires that the nickel content of 316L is 10-14%, while the national standard requires 12-15%.

At present, domestic and foreign pipeline standards can basically be divided into two series, the American system and the European system. The American series represented by ASME B16.5 and the European series represented by DIN2401 currently have great influence in different regions of the world and cannot be unified into one standard. The international standards organization developed ISO, which is a compromise standard that is compatible with both standards. Japan's JIS standard is neither American nor European. In order to make up for this shortcoming, the Japan Petroleum Association compiled the JPI standard. The basic equivalence adopts the ASME/API application standard and is interchangeable with ASME.
