This "practical ceiling" has given rise to a so-called "window of reality" The general idea is that the improvement work in catalyst preparation is not unlimited. When further improvement makes the reactor exceed the reaction kinetics region or other factors such as heat transfer and mass transfer become limiting conditions, the improvement work can be slowed down or stopped.

Thank you, I saw this. I guess it means "scope of operation" but I don't know how to translate it better.
