What is the composition of moisture-proof agent and how does it work?
Moisture agent, also known as anti-whitening agent, is usually composed of high boiling point organic solvents such as esters and similar types. For volatile paints such as acrylic resin paint, perchlorethylene paint, nitrocellulose paint, etc., during construction, if the humidity in the air is high, the solvent will evaporate quickly and absorb a lot of heat during the drying process of the paint film, cooling the environment. The moisture in the air will easily reach saturation and condense on the surface of the paint film. At the same time, the solubility of some components in the paint will decrease and precipitate, causing the paint film to appear opaque white. If you add an appropriate amount of moisture-proof agent to the diluent when preparing the viscosity of the paint (it should be adjusted according to changes in climate and humidity, generally 10% to 20% can be added to the diluent, and up to 40% if necessary), it will reduce the evaporation rate of the solvent and improve the solubility of film-forming substances. It will not only prevent the coating from whitening under a certain humidity, but also avoid pinholes and orange peels in the coating. It is worth noting that: Do not use the moisture-proof agent solely as a diluent to avoid the coating drying too slowly and causing waste.
