Must the temperature of water used for hydraulic testing of austenitic stainless steel be at least 15 degrees?
Austenitic stainless steel – water temperature does not need to be considered. Only carbon steel and low-alloy steel are considered, due to the material’s brittle transition temperature.
For those on the top floor, austenitic stainless steel does not require impact testing at temperatures above -196 degrees, which shows just how resistant it is to low temperatures.
Austenitic stainless steel is resistant to both high and low temperatures. The water pressure test does not require consideration of water temperature.
The new regulations have been issued; the requirement regarding the water temperature for pressure testing has been removed – it is sufficient for the temperature to be 30 degrees above the brittle transition temperature
Where can I find the brittle transition temperature of a material? Whoever knows, please give some advice!
Stainless steel is not needed; only carbon steel and low-alloy steel need to be considered, as specified in GB150! Stainless steel is a high-alloy steel; it is not necessary
