What’s being separated is the acidic water! The valve at the bottom of the acid mist separator needs to be emptied regularly!
In the production of hydrogen chloride, there seems to be no acid mist; only condensed acid is present. Acid traps need to be installed in the pipelines, or the acid needs to be drained regularly.

There is no acid mist separator; only condensed acid is present, and its concentration is extremely high, causing blockages in the pipes and leading to pressure fluctuations in the system.
