How to choose between wafer and lug types for butterfly valves?
For small diameters, choose WAFER; for large diameters, choose LUG. For low pressure, choose WAFER; for high pressure, choose LUG.

Wafer and LUG refer to the mounting styles of butterfly valves. WAFER is the clamped type, which requires flanges on both sides to be fastened together with bolts, while LUG is the single-flange type, in which the valve body has threads allowing bolts to be secured. Generally, a lug is installed at the pipe exhaust outlet, which allows one flange to be saved. Lugs of the same specification are heavier and more expensive than wafers. The selection is independent of the pressure diameter.
I generally support the opinion regarding this floor, but could it be more specific? Lug types include single-flange types (those with shorter mounting bolts), and there seem to also be double-flange types without threads, where the mounting bolts need to pass through both flanges, resulting in longer bolts, and so on
