During the individual test run of the binary refrigeration compressor turbine at Tianjin Ethylene, a problem of high exhaust temperature occurred. During a single test of the turbine, due to the very low load, less steam energy is utilized for work, and the heat generated cannot be removed; as a result, the exhaust steam temperature rises. Suggestions: 1. Reduce the low-speed warm-up time and adjust the speed to its minimum level; this will generally result in a lower exhaust temperature. 2. Reduce the back pressure; during testing, low-pressure steam can be used to bring the pressure as low as possible. 3. If the methods for reducing back pressure are ineffective or not allowed, a temporary pipe can be connected to the exhaust pipeline and led to the silencer in order to reduce the back pressure. I think it is 1: reducing the low-speed warm-up time to achieve the minimum speed setting, which generally results in a lower exhaust temperature. Because during single-unit trial operation, there is no load, so there is no need to meet any standards; it’s merely to verify the interlocks!
