In GB4237-2007 \"Hot-rolled stainless steel sheets and strips\", the phosphorus and sulfur content exceeds the specified limits; the Standard Approval Committee has not approved this standard. Therefore, when designing, should GB4237-2007 or GB4237-92 be used? I would appreciate some guidance from experts
The P content in version 07 is higher than that in version 92! I think I’ll use 07. It’s been such a long time, and no one from the unit has informed me that it can’t be used
I tend to use version 92. The 92 version of P and S are basically suitable, and there is also experience with long-term use. 4237 was assigned by the metallurgy sector. It is not designed specifically for pressure vessels. The 07 version is less suitable for use in pressure vessels compared to the 92 version. Therefore, with version 07 having such a value of 9, the Standards Approval Committee has not issued any document for an update. Their solution is to establish their own stainless steel standard, \"Stainless Steel for Boilers and Pressure Vessels,\" which is still in the process of being developed and is expected to be released next year. Use version 92 until it’s released.
I asked Professor Qin, and the answer was to follow the 1992 version.

There is a difference in the P and S content between version 07 and version 92, but it is consistent with ASME SA240/480. There is international experience in using these materials for pressure vessels; I believe version 07 is suitable.
