Clogged fine powder separator?

The standby boiler was started, and one set of coal grinding system (medium-storage ball mill) came online. Half an hour later, the boiler load increased sharply while the oxygen level dropped rapidly; it was determined that dust was being carried in by the third air stream, and the fine powder separator might be blocked. The coal grinding system was immediately shut down, and the boiler returned to normal operation. Upon inspection, it was found that due to the long downtime of the backup furnace (2 months), the boiler was in the startup phase; the wind temperature was low, there was moisture in the coal grinding system, and the water content in the coal powder was high, resulting in poor fluidity. As the coal powder passed through the fine powder separator, the powder delivery pipes, the sawdust separator, and the air lock, it encountered significant resistance, which gradually led to blockages in the fine powder separator. This caused a large amount of coal powder to be carried along with the tertiary air, making it impossible to control the boiler load.
Our factory requires that the pipe warming time for the pulverizing system during furnace startup must be no less than 20 minutes. However, I didn’t expect the issue of increased powder in the third air stream to arise after the fine particles became blocked. Thank you, OP!
