Can flexible tube sheets adopt tailor-welded structures?

This post was last edited by GSLS at 2009-12-13 21:52. The 16MnⅢ forgings for flexible tube sheets in the design drawings. Since the thickness reaches 200mm and the middle is only 24mm, the processing volume of using the overall forging is huge. Can the outer ring ring forging be used to process the circular arc and then be welded to the circular flat plate Q345R. 100% RT is required after welding, and PWHT overall fire stress heat treatment is required. Have any of you sea friends ever made this type of tube sheet? Is it an integral forging process or a tailor-welded structure? Asking for advice.
I thought flexible tube sheets were referring to thin tube sheets. Since it is a forging, how can there be a forging on the outside and a plate on the inside? In this case, even if it is feasible, you would still use the plate instead of the forging when calculating. The thickness of the plate must be too high. Tailor welding of tube sheets is possible, but with materials like yours, I'm afraid……

If the pressure and temperature are not high and the medium is not special, there is nothing wrong with welding. It is just a flaw detection + heat treatment. Just my personal opinion for reference.
In the packing function heat exchanger, the tube sheet at the floating tube sheet end is welded like this.
The tube sheet of the methanol synthesis tower has this structure
It can adopt welded structure, 100%RT+100%UT, and the welding seam adopts butt welding seam.
