Can Sudan Dar crude oil be directly used for coking processing? Who has experience in processing such mixed oils? Thank you

It’s a bit of a waste to send Dahun crude oil to coking for processing; it is more suitable for direct use in catalytic cracking. I haven’t heard of this type of crude oil being used in coking.
It’s best not to go straight to coking; otherwise, wouldn’t those nearly 30% of fractions before 400 degrees be a waste? If there are other lighter crude oils available in the plant, these can be blended together and then sent to the atmospheric and vacuum distillation units. Depending on the results of this distillation process, it can be decided whether to send the crude oil to catalytic cracking or coking; if neither option is suitable, it can still be used as a heavy fuel oil for generating heat.
