How should the scale of a wastewater treatment plant for sulfuric acid be determined? Is it too low to calculate it based on the amount of dilute acid produced per ton of acid emitted? For example, in the case of a plant that produces 100,000 tons of sulfuric acid per year, is a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 100 tons per day sufficient? How should the scale be increased, and what should be the appropriate coefficient? I would appreciate guidance from those with experience in this field
You can roughly determine this based on your SO3 level; that is, by considering the conditions of the flue gas, estimate how many tons (let’s say m) of water can be converted into waste acid at x% acidity per day through purification (where x represents the concentration of waste acid you aim to control, and can also be regarded as the upper limit for the acidity of the acid in your purification cycle). The scale of your wastewater treatment plant can then be determined based on this value of m tons, of course keeping in mind factors such as the available water on site
