But I don’t think it’s very accurate; shouldn’t it be added that alkynes and dienes with the same number of carbon atoms are isomers? Without this premise, can divinyl and propyne be isomers?
Well, do I agree that acetylene and pentadiene are isomers? He didn’t say that the number of C atoms is equal...

I feel the same way while answering questions, and I also think what the original poster said makes sense. It seems that the question setter assumes that the number of carbon atoms is the same
It seems that one needs to be careful when doing questions; without any given premises, there’s no reason why the correct answer can’t be chosen!
What the question setter means is that the number of carbon atoms should be the same. The instructor is thorough in his teaching, but it’s not necessary to be too pedantic either, haha
At first, I thought the question was asking about carbon atoms that were identical, but after reading the replies from other students above, I realized that the question wasn’t precise after all.
