On December 19th in Foshan, Guangdong, Shaolin practitioner Zhang Kaiyin knocked out Muay Thai champion Lansankun. The most impressive moment was when Zhang Kaiyin was pushed to the edge of the ring by Lansankun; he managed to get free and then struck Lansankun in the ear with a punch, followed by another hook that hit Lansankun’s back of the head. Lansankun collapsed immediately, and Zhang Kaiyin secured a decisive victory. In the end, Chinese martial arts won 3:1 overall. There are many videos on Baidu where you can watch this match.

The scoring rules are a bit favorable to the Chinese side, after all, elbows and knees in Muay Thai are excluded from use. I personally felt that the victory wasn’t very satisfying.
