I recently came across a gasification process that is touted as being highly efficient; it claims to be able to produce natural gas and activated carbon directly (which can also be further liquefied). I’m not sure if anyone is familiar with this process. I hope everyone will not hesitate to share their insights, so as to avoid being deceived by foreigners again. Thank you!
I have also attended a technical exchange meeting like that. I think it’s difficult for Bixby’s technology to be adopted in China. First of all, there is no domestic market available to absorb the large amount of activated carbon produced by this technology; moreover, liquefying it seems to remain a global challenge. Judging from the progress being made, industrial application is still a long way off
I’ve also come across this technology recently, and it seems to be described as being perfect: there’s no need for process water, no harmful substances are released into the atmosphere, and no wastewater is generated. Is that possible? After searching online, I found two projects in China that make use of Bickby Company’s technology: 1. A project for producing activated carbon from coal and using natural gas, carried out in collaboration between the American company Global Cooperation, Bickby Energy Systems Corporation, Hohhot Mengyuan Industrial Company, and Inner Mongolia Northern Pharmaceutical City Technology Development Company. The total investment in this project is 3 billion yuan; it utilizes technology from American companies, and it can increase the energy efficiency of coal by nearly 60%. Upon reaching full production capacity, the project can generate an annual output value of 11.9 billion yuan and an annual profit of 5.9 billion yuan. 2. The BIKBI Clean Energy Project of Liaoyuan Dongyi BIKBI Global Cooperation Energy System Co., Ltd. involves the use of technology and equipment from the American company BIKBI; it employs the internationally patented \"flash vaporization\" process developed by this company to produce high-quality natural gas and high-grade activated carbon from low-quality coal. There is no combustion during the production process; coal is heated in a sealed environment to produce natural gas and activated carbon. The entire process generates no emissions of waste gas, wastewater, or waste residues, making it an ideal method for producing clean energy at present. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with these two projects; what is the level of technical maturity of Bickby Company? Are there any technical challenges that have not yet been overcome? Given the current situation in our country, is it feasible to introduce this technology?
Restoring the 5th floor: This technology claim is way overthe top! Take project construction investment and the time to recoup that investment as an example – it’s also impossible. For typical chemical plant projects, a project payback period of 5–8 years is considered successful. According to the information provided, the investment can be recouped within a year, with a 100% profit margin. This project is way over the top.
I’ve also been in contact with it; the claims made about it are incredible, but there’s nothing substantial about the manufacturing process. The first step actually involves low-temperature dry distillation of coal dust, using gas as a heat carrier for direct heating. I just can’t figure out how natural gas comes about. What should be produced is coke powder, which is then used to make activated carbon. The liquefaction technology is also described in rather mysterious terms – oil production is said to occur at atmospheric pressure. They claim to have seen this in the laboratory, but the actual device does not seem to exist yet.

I have attended technical seminars on Kobe, and the Chinese people were deceived. It’s good that Kobe has his own laboratory in the United States; it’s just for pilot tests. The data obtained from those pilot-scale devices lack the amplification typical of engineering applications, so how can they be used in larger-scale equipment? And it’s absolutely incredible that Kobe claims to have no emissions of waste gases. (9) Our system is modular and can be placed anywhere without requiring any major construction; it also does not interfere with existing structures or operations. These are the features they highlighted; they’re truly amazing. I’ve been in the chemical industry for over a decade, and I’ve never heard of such impressive technology before.
With such an amazing technology, why isn’t it promoted in the United States? Given the high returns it offers, how could American venture capitalists pass up such a golden opportunity? They instead come to China to help its people who are in dire straits – what a noble spirit of selfless internationalism! Why isn’t a demonstration facility set up as soon as possible?
I just want to say that it’s absolutely impossible for there to be such perfect technology. I hope the people of this country will not be deceived. Many of America’s technical patents are purchased by Chinese companies at high prices without any industrialization or even pilot testing; as a result, many problems arise when attempting to localize them domestically. One of the projects we are working on is like that; due to confidentiality reasons, I’m not able to disclose the name of the organization.
Such advanced technology – is China being used as a testing ground once again?
