Reforms to the natural gas pricing mechanism will further enhance the market competitiveness of coal-to-natural gas. The first “Technical and Economic Symposium on Coal-to-Synthetic Natural Gas Technology” will be held in Beijing from January 20-21, 2010. It will explore the trends in industry policies for coal-to-natural gas, the prospects for China’s natural gas market and pipeline planning, the technical and economic analysis of coal-to-natural gas, the progress of industrial demonstration projects and plans for new projects, as well as the development and application of advanced gasification and methanation process technologies.
