It’s just like when an employer gives out year-end bonuses. I think this is also a summary of HaiChuan’s work over the past year, as well as an award and encouragement for all its members over the same period, with the aim of promoting its further development. Below are some simple, preliminary ideas; I hope to receive support from the cleaning staff and all the moderators: 1. The year-end evaluations can be conducted at the Haichuan headquarters, in each district, as well as in the sub-forums under each district. Just as in chemical manufacturing companies, where there are advanced companies and advanced workshops. 2. The year-end awards can be divided into two categories: one is the “Best Technical Exchange Award”, and the other is the “Best Original Material Award”. 3. The Best Technical Exchange Award is nominated by the moderators of each section, taking into account factors such as the originality and practicality of the issue, as well as the feedback received. Once the nominees are identified, a dedicated thread is created for everyone to vote on them. Of course, technical exchanges involve two aspects: asking questions and answering them, and these two types of posts should be given special attention. 4. Best Original Material Award: This award takes into account the originality and practicality of the material, as well as the standardization of the posting and the number of downloads. It is nominated by the moderators of each section, and selected through voting by fellow users. 5. Regarding bonuses, I think it could work like this: first, an honor medal can be created with the inscription “Best Technical Communicator at the 2009 HaiChuan Forum”, along with rewards such as wealth, prestige, and recognition for contributions. Of course, there should be a difference in the amount of rewards between the branches and the headquarters. 6. For Sichuan users who wish to compete for these awards, the moderators of each section as well as the administrators can set certain mandatory requirements, such as online time, number of posts posted, rank, etc. In addition to nominations by moderators, users can also apply on their own. 7. The reason for this idea is mainly to encourage everyone’s participation in HaiChuan, thereby making it more popular and creating a better atmosphere there. 8. If it is feasible, it is necessary for the cleaning staff to grant certain permissions to the moderators of each section; this, in turn, increases the workload and difficulty for those moderators. 9. Every year, HaiChuan holds an election to select its top 10 members, usually in January. Suggestions are also welcome to enrich this selection process

Personally, I think the list of top 10 is a bit too small – our HaiChuan community currently has nearly 100,000 members, so what proportion do those top 10 actually account for? Hehe, actually there’s no need for the whole forum to participate in the voting – it’s not feasible to compare results. It’s possible to conduct the voting by sections, and the software section has already started its voting process
Yes, it should be handled separately for each forum section. Of course, the Top 10 in HaiChuan can also be recommended by the moderators of each section to the person in charge of evaluations, who will then work together with some senior members to make the selections. It seems though that there’s no such activity in the Synthetic Ammonia section of my fertilizer forum; the evaluations within my unit have already started some time ago. 6# Firefly
Let’s start in January; the evaluation must be completed by the end of 09. In previous years, there was a preliminary selection phase first, during which members would recommend candidates within a set time frame, after which 20 candidates were chosen for public voting to determine the top ten.
