On December 23, the inauguration ceremony for Yanzhou Coal Industry Ordos Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. was held in Ordos City, marking the entry of the group’s coal, electricity, and chemical integration development project in Ordos into its practical implementation phase. Ji Binchang, deputy director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Shandong Province, on behalf of Wang Renyuan, executive vice governor of Shandong Province, and the provincial SASAC, congratulated the establishment of Yanzhou Coal Industry Ordos Energy Chemical Company and unveiled its plaque. Wang Xin, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Manager, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the group company, along with Deputy General Managers Zhang Minglin, Li Weimin, and He Yechu*, attended the unveiling ceremony. At the unveiling ceremony, Wang Xin said that Yankuang Group is a large state-owned enterprise in Shandong Province. The establishment of Yanzhou Coal Industry Ordos Energy Chemical Company marks an important step forward for Yankuang Group in its involvement in the comprehensive development of coal, electricity, and chemicals in Ordos. Yankuang Group will surely implement earnestly the \"Energy Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement\" between the two provinces and regions. In accordance with the requirements of the autonomous region’s authorities as well as those of the Ordos Municipal Party Committee and **, it will accelerate the development of comprehensive coal, electricity, and chemical industry bases, establish a circular economy development model, promote coordinated development among the economy, population, resources, and the environment, and set an example of friendly cooperation between the two provinces and regions. Based on the Framework Agreement on Energy Strategic Cooperation signed between Shandong Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on June 5 of this year, the group company signed a Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Development of Coal, Electricity, and Chemicals with Ordos City. Leveraging Ordos’ abundant coal resources and favorable investment environment, as well as its own strong economic strength, advanced technical capabilities, and management skills, the group company is involved in the development and construction of the Ordos Energy and Chemical Industry Base. Ordos Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yanzhou Coal Industry, with a registered capital of 1.5 billion yuan. Ordos City **has allocated coal resources with a reserve of 1.68 billion tons to develop coal chemical projects. The project is planned to commence construction with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of coal-based methanol and derived olefins; the first phase involves a 600,000-ton methanol production facility along with 2 supporting mines. Ordos has more than 50 different types of mineral resources, among which the proven coal reserves amount to 149.6 billion tons, accounting for 1/6 of China’s total coal reserves. In recent years, Ordos City has made great efforts to develop a **-level energy and chemical industry base, with increasingly high entry requirements. The group company has won the favor of ** in Ordos City thanks to its strong advantages. After being registered on December 18 and officially inaugurated on December 23, the management team of Yanzhou Coal Industry Ordos Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. quickly got to work, planning and arranging the next steps, with all tasks progressing simultaneously. On December 24, He Ye, General Manager of Ordos Energy Chemicals, convened the team members for their first work meeting. He conveyed the spirit of the speech delivered by Wang Xin, Vice Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors, General Manager, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, at the time the team was established. He assigned tasks to the existing staff, outlined the key priorities for future work, and identified the immediate goals of \"completing one task, accelerating another, and ensuring synchronization in two areas.\" The company established a dedicated task force to define the procedures for completing the transfer, clarify the approach, assign responsibilities, and ensure that the changes are implemented on schedule. They actively reached out to design firms, carried out extensive technical exchanges, and began preparations for tasks such as the project’s overall layout, site grading, and preliminary design. They also conducted early investigations and evaluations of potential technical approaches, as well as early inspections of key equipment, in an effort to get the project started as soon as possible. While accelerating the construction of the methanol plant, the company is actively seeking out coal mine design firms and geological survey agencies, and working on preparing the feasibility report for the coal mine, while simultaneously carrying out the preliminary preparations for its construction.
